Game Summary

Swordplay and puzzles combine in this thinking man's dungeon crawl. It's simple to learn, with just a handful of commands to master. But the unique gameplay provides an amazing depth. Review This Game

DROD: JtRH is one of that gems that you could find once in a while if you persist. Maybe in the beginning the game doesn't show ...all its appeal, you need to go deep inside and take your time. The puzzle system is a turn based one, with your character moving one square at a time and so your enemies, so you must watch your move carefully as in a chess board. Actually, in the end, you must anticipate your moves way in advance. The puzzles are more and more complex and you learn to deal with them little by little until the very hard levels are incredibly enjoyable and you find that you're glued. The story is charming, the music is nice and varied, the characters are enjoyable (the voice acting is superb), the monsters are original and pose unique challenges that make the puzzles intricately delicious. If you are stuck, there is a huge forum with very nice people to help you, well organized by game, levels, and rooms. And if you have not enough, there is a large community of 'architects' that produces new 'holds' (level sets), some with very elaborate stories and puzzles. You'll never run out of DROD! This is one in a series of games, first one I've tried and the better in my opinion. Check out the others, anyway, all of them are very good.
