Review This Game

Imagine a RTS game without any AI opponent that is still challenging and replayable. Sounds difficult to achieve but the fluid m...echanics based opponent and the way it interacts with the terrain and the player together with an online leaderboard manages to accomplish just that. You will play various different scenerios and you will play each multiple times. There's a load of content here.

I really enjoyed this game. It's a RTS with simple mechanics, not too complex, but managing to have enough complexity to be ent...ertaining. There is depth to this game.

I'm not a true real time strategy fan, but Creeper World is not a normal RTS: it's brilliant, plain and simple. Your enemy is ba...sically a malicious growth that seeks to spread out, and destroy everything it its path…not because it’s malevolent but simply because everything else is in its way. The behavior of the enemy (or the Creeper to give it its correct name), is based on fluid dynamics, and behaves exactly like you might expect a viscous liquid to behave: it spreads out in all directions, and fills up the lowest lying areas first. This unusual mechanic gives new meaning to the strategic idea of controlling the high ground – it’s the only place you’ll be able to survive. While there are only a few defensive structures to choose from, it doesn't feel as if you’re limited in any serious way. Another feature that might seem limiting is the games linearity, however despite following a strict progression you never feel tied down as most levels allow you to succeed using vastly different tactics. The challenge maps are a lot of fun, and frequently got my heart rate up as a win/lose situation could be decided by a single split second action. The story isn't ground breaking, but it’s still compelling enough to make you want to know how it ends. In short, you should get this game simply to have a go at its unique game mechanic if nothing else.
