Review This Game

It's definitively no Gothic 4, so if you expect it to be a true successor of the famous german RPG-series, better keep your expe...ctations low. Very low that is. Arcania is much simpler, has much less interactivity, a relatively "closed" world, a cheap story and weak characters. However it has beautiful graphics, a easy but fun fighting system and can make fun if you're out for a uncomplicated, simple RPG-light experience. Just don't expect a Gothic title, and you'll probably be fine.

As someone not biased by playing the first three (four if you really wanna count Forsaken Gods) Gothic games, I look at this gam...e for what it is... And what is is is pretty "meh." It's a somewhat lighthearted western RPG, but the "limited experience" kind, so be careful how you choose things. The combat is fairly fun, if repetitive, and the story is nothing special. Pick it up if you really need an RPG fix.

It is a fairly old RPG with a good story and thus it is so old it has many small errors
